in the sun
The inspiration for this collection started with a trip to a winery-turned castle in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. The soft hills, the grapes, the lemon trees, and the blooming lavender made the winery feel like an escape from reality. I documented my visit, leaving with countless ideas for new projects.
The collection utilizes lightweight woven fabrics, keeping in mind the heat of the Tuscan sun. Every look is named after a type of flower that grows in the region. The color palette contains pastels, and there is a lemon tree inspired print. The Iris dress takes personal inspiration from my Italian grandmother.
This dress was created from 100% cotton, upcycled materials.
The design is inspired by the wedding dress my great-grandmother handmade for my grandmother.
